Park County, CO - Alan Lee Phillips, 71, convicted in the 1982 murders of two women hitchhiking near Breckenridge was sentenced to two life sentences to run consecutively today.
Phillips was found guilty of first-degree murder and kidnapping in the January 1982 shooting deaths of Annette Schnee, 21, and Barbara Oberholtzer, 29 in September of this year. He was tied to the murders by genetic genealogy, and the semi-retired mechanic from Clear Creek County was arrested during a traffic stop near his home in February 2021.
“We are happy to have this case and conviction for the public and families involved,” said Tom McGraw, Park County Sheriff.
