Red Flag Warning

Park County, CO – A Red Flag Warning will be in effect all day Saturday, May 7, 2022. The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Saturday morning through Saturday evening. A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. NWS predicts:

  • Winds will be Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 30 to 40 mph. Strongest winds from Park and Jefferson Counties across the Palmer Divide area.
  • Relative Humidity will be 10-15 percent.

Any fire that starts will have the potential to spread rapidly. Avoid outdoor activities that may produce a spark and start a wildfire. Park County is currently in a Stage 1 Burn Ban, please exercise caution and no open flames or activities that create a spark permitted.
