Notice Increase in COVID Cases

PARK COUNTY SEES INCREASE IN COVID-19 CASES

PARK COUNTY – Park County Public Health officials advise residents of rising cases in Park County and encourage everyone to remain vigilant to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Within the past two weeks, Park County has seen a dramatic surge in cases and a positivity rate exceeding 19%.

Recommendations to Protect Individuals

In response to the spike in cases, Park County Public Health is asking all visitors and community members to take precautions and exercise personal responsibility.  Public Health Officials strongly recommend:

  • Getting vaccinated and boosted
  • Wearing masks in all public places
  • Limiting gatherings, especially indoors
  • Any individuals experiencing symptoms, even mild, should stay home and seek testing.

Park County Public Health is monitoring the situation closely. The confirmation of the extremely high transmission rate serves as a warning that the virus continues to circulate in our community and that individuals should continue to use precautionary measures to protect themselves against the transmission of COVID-19.

Individuals that experience symptoms (including fever, headache, sore throat or cough) should stay home and seek testing for COVID-19. Testing is widely available and free of cost. Information on testing locations can be found here: https://parkco.us/809/Testing-Information.
