[ARCHIVED] Third Dose of COVID19 Vaccine Recommendation

Vaccine Appointments Available (3)

Third COVID19 Vaccine Dose Approved for Limited Populations

Park County, Colo. – Last week the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) amended Emergency Use Authorizations for both the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to allow for the use of an additional dose after the first two doses in certain immunocompromised people. And now the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends people whose immune systems are moderately to severely compromised receive an additional dose of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine at least four weeks (28 days) after their second dose.

In response, Park County Public Health is in the beginning stages of working with our partners in planning a local response to this new information. As always, please contact your primary medical provider if you have questions or concerns about receiving a third vaccination for COVID-19.

If you have any questions about the COVID19 vaccine, please feel free to call the Park County Public Health COVID19 Vaccine and Testing Coordinator at 719-836-4162 or email pcph@parkco.us. Please continue to visit the Park County's COVID19 website for details, nearby clinics, and additional COVID19 resources.
