[ARCHIVED] Hard Landing of Hot Air Balloon Results in Death of Passenger

Hartsel, Colo- 08/03/2018 at 8:30 pm- The female passenger transported by Flight for Life to Penrose Hospital has died. The circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation by the FAA, NTSB, and Park County Coroner's Office. Her identity will be released once her family has been notified. An autopsy has been scheduled.  No additional information is available at this time. 


Hartsel, Colo.- 08/03/2018 at 8:20 am - A Hot Air Balloon carrying 9 passengers and 2 pilots had a hard landing near Hartsel.  Two female passengers were injured.  The most seriously injured was transported by Flight for Life to Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, The flight originated out of the Hartsel area.
