Mandatory evacuation have been issued to residents in the immediate vicinity of the Weston Pass Fire. Evacuations for Black Mountain subdivisions are voluntary at this time but residents should be prepared for a full evacuation. The Fairplay Community Center at the Park County Fairgrounds is open as an evacuation center. The location is 880 Bogue Street, Fairplay, Colorado. County Rd 22 is closed to all traffic. Surrounding areas are encouraged to remove livestock and pets out of the area and to prepare to evacuate. US Forest Service, North-West, Hartsel, & Jefferson-Como Fire Protection District are on scene. 1500 acres have burned.
The Fairplay Community Center shelter has closed for the evening but will reopen at 7:00 a.m. Saturday, 6/30/18.
