On October 20, 2010 The Park County Sheriff’s Office was notified that VINCENT KINGSLEY WALLACE was in our area. Wallace had made a phone call from a pay phone located at the Shell gas station in Fairplay. Wallace is wanted by the San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office for Sexual Assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. An arrest warrant has been issued, with bail set at $60,000.00 Wallace is also wanted by the El Pasco County Sheriff’s Office on a misdemeanor warrant.

Acting on information received from the Colorado Springs Police Department, the Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant for 176 Ridge Way, located off of Platte Drive and Ridge Road, just outside of Fairplay.

A reverse 911 call was launched to warn residents within a five mile radius of the address.

At approximately 11:30 pm, Park County Sheriff’s Office SWAT officers executed the search warrant at that address. Wallace was not at the residence.

Wallace is believed to be in the area. Residents are advised to keep doors and windows locked and report any suspicious persons in the area. It is unknown if Wallace is armed or what his intent is. He is actively avoiding capture.

Saturation patrols by the Fairplay Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office are continuing at this time.
