Mission Statement

  • Promote the general health, safety and welfare for the citizens of Park County
  • To assist the citizens with the code and permit process, in achieving their goals with the least possible intrusion into their lives

Responsibilities

The Park County Building Department is responsible for:

  • Assisting citizens and contractors in preparing and submitting documents for building permits
  • Reviewing building plans to ensure minimum requirements for life and safety
  • Performing building inspections at intervals in the construction process to ensure compliance with structural and safety codes
  • Inspecting unsafe building as requested by authorities
  • Providing contractor licensing/registration
  • Providing the public with monthly, quarterly and annual building statistics

Issued Permits

The Building Department handles all building permits and building inspections for all construction projects and anything that has to do with building for all of Park County with the exceptions of the Town of Fairplay and the Town of Alma, including:

  • New Construction
  • Remodels
  • Mechanical
  • Demolition
