Puma Hills River Ranch Habitat Project

2007 Tarryall Creek

Puma Hills River Ranch contains 2.5 miles of Tarryall  Creek along Park County Road 77 north of Lake George. The riparian community associated with Tarryall Creek provides high  quality habitat for mule deer, elk, waterfowl, and breeding songbirds.

Portions of Tarryall Creek were targeted for  improvements in 2007 due to impacts related to historic grazing  practices, degraded riparian vegetation, lack of beaver activity, and  altered flow and sediment regimes.

Funding for the Puma Hills River Ranch riparian  enhancement project was provided in part by the Park County Land &  Water Trust Fund.
