About the Treasurer: 

The County Treasurer is responsible for mailing property tax statements to the owner of record, collecting property taxes, and disbursing taxes to the taxing authorities (school districts, cities/towns, the county, fire districts, special districts, etc.). Other duties of the Treasurer include receiving all monies sent to Park County, maintaining correct and proper accounting of all monies, disbursing, monies for obligations of the county on the orders of the Board of County Commissioners, and investing all monies until they are needed.

Article XIV, Section 8 of the Constitution of the State of Colorado is the authority by which the Treasurer operates. Activities of the office are directed by the Legislature of the State of Colorado through the Statutes. The Treasurer is an elected official, serving a four-year term of office.

NOTE:  The Treasurer does NOT determine the amount of tax to be collected.

 

 

 

Online payments can be made with Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Am. Ex. or e-Check. 

Convenience fee will be applied as follows:

Credit Card Fee is  2.85% of payment made
e-Check Fee is flat rate of $1.50

About the Public Trustee:  

The Public Trustee is responsible for processing Foreclosures and releasing Deeds of Trust.

The following is needed to execute a release of deed of trust:

  1. ORIGINAL Note marked "Paid in Full" or "Canceled in Lieu of Foreclosure".  If the original note is lost, a Lost Instruments Bond needs to be obtained.
  2. Original Deed of Trust.  If the original cannot be obtained, a copy of the Deed of Trust showing the recording information is satisfactory.
  3. Completed Release Deed of Trust Form.  Must be notarized.
  4. Fee of $21.00 is required.  (If the release form is more than one page, add $5.00 more per page.)

Please submit to our office the above-mentioned documents and fees along with a self addressed envelope and we will execute your release.  Also please put a return address on the back of the release form.
