STATUS: No current county-wide Fire Ban for Park County at this time. Please use caution and be aware of extreme fire conditions. To determine if there is a fire ban in your particular area of Park County, please contact your Fire District for private property fire ban information. For public land fire ban information, please contact the U.S. Forest Service or Bureau of Land Management (719) 553-1400.
A county-wide private property fire ban can only be declared by the Park County Sheriff. Individual Fire District fire bans are declared by the district Fire Chief. Burn permits are required in Park County for any controlled burning of slash or trash. Certain districts require a burn permit for campfires, too. To determine if there is a fire restriction or if a burn permit is required, please contact your Fire District for more information on those restrictions.
NOTE: If Park County is NOT under a fire ban or is under a Stage I Ban, additional restrictions may apply to individual fire districts. This will be for private land only. Please contact the the Fire District for more information on those restrictions.
