The wood frame Denny house is on its original site and serves as a remarkably complete representation of life for a well-to-do family of an 1880s mining town.

The buildings once served as the office, storage area and ice house, but now are display areas for the transportation vehicle displays and an exhibit of the role burros played in the development of the mining area.
FAIRPLAY HOTEL

The present rustic-style hotel was built in 1923 after the previous, 1870s hotel burned. Designed by a prominent Denver architect, the Adirondack influenced structure is a cornerstone for Fairplay business and social life.
FAIRPLAY SCHOOL / EDITH TETER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Built at a cost of $5,000 in 1880, the two-story stone school still functions as classrooms and offices of the Park County Re-2 school district.
MAYER HOUSE

This house is still on its original site within what is now a museum complex. Col. Mayer, a locally famous buffalo hunter, writer and adventurer lived here during his later years. Many of his possessions still remain.
PARK COUNTY COURT HOUSE

Built in 1874, the Italianate, red sandstone building still serves the county as library and county offices. Its large lawn also serves as a venue for community events.
SMOKEHOUSE

Associated with the nearby National Register listed Summer Saloon, this stone smokehouse once processed meats sold at the saloon.
SNOWSTORM DREDGE
50928 CO 9, North of Fairplay

Once a number of dredges plied the streams and rivers of Park County in search of gold. This one is the last intact processing plant in Colorado.
SOUTH PARK COMMUNITY CHURCH/JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL

The white board-and-batten chapel, built in 1874, was one of the many churches associated with itinerate minister Sheldon Jackson. It has been carefully maintained and is still in use today.
SOUTH PARK LAGER BEER BREWERY

Known as one of the first breweries in Colorado, this sandstone building now serves as the central exhibit area for the South Park City Museum.
SUMMER SALOON

Constructed of the same, native sandstone as the brewery, the saloon was built in 1879, and was a favorite gathering place for the local miners and ranchers. It now is an exhibition hall for the museum.
