Project Delayed Please be advised that on August 23, 2010 the Park County Board of Commissioners received an email regarding the Energy and Mineral Impact Assistance Fund (EIAF) Grant program. Governor Bill Ritter has suspended it for the current fiscal year ending June 2011. The Board as determined to temporarily delay the revision of the plans, bid date, and start of construction of the Park County Communications Center. The anticipation of the County of the award of the (EIAF) Grant was a major source of funding for the Communications Center.
Also, unfavorable results of the November election regarding Proposition 101 (911 Fee), Amendments 60 and 61 would have a great impact on the supplemental funding for the financing of the project.
Therefore, the Park County Commissioners have decided to wait until the State of Colorado can clarify funding that would be available for this project before further action. In addition the Commissioners will be in the process of exploring other possibilities of funding.
The Board of Park County Commissioners appreciates everyone’s patience and wants to assure you that the present Qualified General Contractors will remain the bidders of preference for this project when it resumes. The Commissioners are committed to build this project when the financing is worked out. It is presently anticipated that it could be the first quarter of 2011 before project activity commences.
Please continue to check our website for any bulletins regarding the project.
